Floor coatings
Epoxy floor coating in Melbourne
A coated floor is easier to clean, brighter to work in, and it seals concrete dust out of everything you store on it. We coat warehouse and garage floors, and schedule the work around the hours the place runs.
A recent job
A whole warehouse, walls to floor
This factory came to us as raw block walls, a mottled ceiling and bare concrete. Walls and ceiling coated white, floor sealed dark. The same space looks finished now, and the sealed floor reduces concrete dust.
- Concrete prepared properly. Coatings fail on unprepared concrete, not from wear
- Moisture checked before anything goes down
- Worked in stages so the space kept operating
Where floor coatings are used
Warehouses and factories, workshops, garages, storage areas, plant rooms. Anywhere concrete sheds dust onto stock, marks from tyres and forklifts, or just makes the space feel darker than it is. A sealed floor cleans with a mop, takes traffic, and bounces light back into the room.
Preparing the concrete
Dust, moisture, oil and a smooth concrete surface can prevent epoxy from bonding. Preparation includes grinding, cleaning, moisture testing and patching as needed. We assess the concrete before selecting the coating system.
Scheduled around your operation
Floors are the one job a business can't work around, so we stage it: section by section, overnight, or across a shutdown weekend. It's all agreed in writing before we start, with cure times built into the schedule so nobody drives a forklift onto a floor that needed another twelve hours.
What affects the price
The area and preparation both affect the price: a slab that needs diamond grinding back to sound concrete costs more than one that needs a wash, and an old coating that has to come off costs more again. Moisture is the other big one. Concrete reading damp needs a barrier under the system or the coating lifts off in sheets, and that gets tested before quoting. Then cracks and joints to fill, whether you want a plain colour or flake through it, and how many coats are needed for the expected traffic. Staging around your operating hours changes the labour, not the materials.
